The Pool Management Group in Atlanta, GA is the headquarters to 16 swimming pool management and lifeguard services locations across the US. We’re the largest privately held pool management company in the US. Our locations serve commercial pools, not residential.

At headquarters, our objective is helping our locations succeed, grow, and improve year over year. We provide our locations strategic focus, business support and as needed operational support.  Our team of employees work hard and at a fast pace particularly in the summer season.  However, we also look after and support one another.

Position Summary

We have an excellent opportunity within The Pool Management Group. The position is part of the team that combines pool management field support and operations with our strategic focus and business support roles.

The Leadership & Operations position will be part of the core support team. This position requires supporting our locations out in the field (travel required), performing physical pool management duties (opening and closing pools), trouble shooting pool problems, and interacting with customers and lifeguards in the field. This role is an opportunity to grow professionally while progressively learning the skills to manage the complete operations at a city.  

We are looking for a person who has commercial swimming pool experience, enjoys physical work and travel during part of the year.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience and a bachelors degree

  • Extensive travel, especially from March through September

  • Location : Preferred location is Atlanta, GA but other locations are acceptable and will be considered on a case by case basis. These locations include cities where our local companies exist, such as Charlotte, NC, Houston, TX and others as seen on our website : https://www.poolmanagementgroup.com/locations. For Candidates outside of Atlanta, travel to our corporate headquarters in Atlanta for training will be required from time to time.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks well. 

  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, employees and lifeguards.

  • Enthusiastic with good energy and self-motivated.

  • Knowledge of general office machines and software, including computers, printers/copiers, and Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • We’re a non-smoking company.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Candidates may come from one of two different industries: Pool Management or Waterparks.Direct experience communicating with customers regarding service, satisfaction, problems and operations.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of pump rooms and pool mechanics including water. chemistry and operation of chlorination and filtration systems.

  • An aptitude with technology is a plus.  

 

Essential Duties include:

  • Managing swimming pool operations, swimming pool cleanings and repairs in the field as needed. 

  • Visually inspect aquatic facilities to ensure they are up to our standards of cleanliness and water chemistry.

  • Interacting with customers to assess and improve satisfaction levels.

  • Aid in planning and execution of our annual company-wide Safety & Operations Symposium and our annual General Manager Retreat.

  • Assisting with basic technology administration and processes: our nationwide cloud based clock in system, operational reporting, online training & office administration duties as needed.

  • Tasks may risk exposure to extreme heat/cold or extreme weather conditions. Also, routine exposure to chemicals such Calcium Hypochlorite, Hydrochloric Acid and other pool related chemicals.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $80,000+ per year. Salary based on experience and qualifications.

Job Type:

Full Time.

$100,000+ (Based on experience) guaranteed salary first year with potential bonus, then income based on profits in subsequent years. This is a large market with major income upside.

 

About Aquatic Management of Charlotte:

Aquatic Management of Charlotte is a commercial swimming pool management company. Our clients are commercial pool owners on the northside of Charlotte, North Carolina, such as homeowners associations, communities, country clubs, municipalities, and other non-residential facilities. Examples of our turnkey services include pool management, lifeguard and other staffing fulfillment, renovations and repairs, and more. Our mission is to provide our customers with inviting, comfortable, clean, and SAFE swimming pool facilities so their patrons can enjoy worry-free swimming experiences.

 

A Day in the Life as a General Manager:

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations, including management of operations at each pool facility, revenue and expense management, managing full time staff and part time employees, contract sales, customer service, and administration. The newly hired company leader will be trained in The Pool Management Group methods, standards, and operational processes and will utilize our proven methods and tools (admin, operations, technology, HR, lifeguard hiring and training and more). Our unique business model enables each of our companies to be supported by our national resources and expertise yet operate independently at their location. This opening presents an excellent opportunity for the right person to become the leader of an established operation with an excellent market reputation.

 

Your Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a high level expertise and quality in all areas of pool management services.

  • Resolve problems and communicate with customers on issues to ensure positive customer service and year over year retention of customer contracts.

  • Selling of contracts and project work.

  • Promote a positive work environment while directly supervising and supporting individual performance of employees.

  • Manage company expenses.

  • Follow the processes and procedures of The Pool Management Group regarding operational policies and administration requirements.

  • Ensure proper compliance across regulatory boards such as OSHA and Department of Labor.

  • Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as hot temperatures, dirt, dust, chemicals, unpleasant odors.

 

What Qualifications You Need For Success:

  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment working long, hard hours in the spring and summer.

  • Willingness to be at pools, working alongside employees or on your own, to resolve pool issues. This is not a desk job during the spring or summer.

  • Ability to independently lift/carry supplies or equipment up to 50 lbs.

  • Excellent time management skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks.

  • Experience successfully leading and motivating a team of employees.

  • Experience interfacing with customers and potential customers.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Desire and ability to be coached by our leadership and to use our proven processes.

  • Willingness to make commercial swimming pool management your long-term career.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • At least 3 years experience in an Area/Regional Role.

  • Pool management or Aquatics experience a plus, but not required.
